After refuting claims of Gandhis resigning, Congress reschedules CWC meet to Monday
Rahul Gandhi had resigned as Congress president after the party suffered its second consecutive defeat in general elections in 2019. Sonia Gandhi who took over the reins of the party again as interim president had also offered to quit in August 2020 after an open revolt by G-23 leaders but the CWC urged her to continue.
The Congress Working Committee meeting set to take place today has been rescheduled. The meeting will now be held on Monday at 10 am to discuss the outcome of the assembly elections in five states.
This development comes after grand old party refuted reports that the Gandhi family members will resign from all organisational posts.
Dismissing a media report which claimed that the Gandhi family members will resign from all party positions, Randeep Surjewala termed it “wrong and mischievous”.

The Congress lost Punjab to the AAP and could not wrest any of the four other states – Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur – from the BJP.
