The plane was on its way from the state capital, Manaus, to Barcelos, about a 90-minute flight. The crash took place around 3 pm (Brazil time) as the plane was trying to land.
The deceased include 12 passengers and two crew members, Governor Wilson Lima wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“I deeply regret the death of the 12 passengers and two crew members, victims of the plane crash that occurred this Saturday, in Barcelos. Our teams are working from the outset to provide the necessary support. To family and friends, my solidarity and prayers,” he wrote.
